HFH Kelowna Awarded a Sustainable Building Grant from The Home Depot Canada Foundation

Since 1996, The Home Depot has been the largest supporter of Habitat for Humanity in Canada.  We are pleased to announce that our affiliate has been awarded a Sustainable Building Grant from The Home Depot Canada Foundation for our Westside build.

The Home Depot currently donates over $3 million in funding and product as well as thousands of volunteer hours each year to affordable housing projects. Throughout 2009, The Home Depot supported more than 40 Habitat for Humanity projects, focusing on the creation of sustainable, energy-efficient homes that provide lasting benefits to families in need.
In addition to the grant, The Home Depot employees are offered the opportunity to get involved with this build project through The Home Depot Team Depot program. Team Depot is The Home Depot’s employee volunteer program. Through Team Depot, employees are encouraged and empowered to take a leadership role in the community by organizing and volunteering on projects with local and national partners. Annually, The Home Depot employees contribute more than 60,000 volunteer hours to community projects across Canada.
Habitat for Humanity and The Home Depot are committed to environmentally responsible building practices.
