Habitat for Humanity supporters are cautioned that an email claiming to be from Habitat for Humanity and offering a ten percent commission for collecting donations is a fraud. As reported by the CBC, “An email is circulating across North America [which] asks would-be recruits to collect money from donors.”  Habitat does not operate this way.  HFH Canada spokesperson Kate Marshall told the CBC: “”It’s very disappointing because obviously we’re a name that people know well and trust.”
